3 ways to change user’s login shell.

1. change /etc/passwd

for ex,

root:x:0:0:0:root:/root:/bin/bash

x-pwd

0-user id, root user

0-group id, root group

/root home directory

/bin/bash login shell

2. usermod

sudo usermod -s /bin/bash xwei, somehow it doesn’t work on my rhel 6.0 enterprise
